Frequently Asked Questions...
I have a vintage sign from a hundred year old building. Where can I find out it's approximate value?
I have two vintage signs 16 feet by 8 feet tall and 16 feet by 10.5 feet tall. The signs are dismantled and come off of a hundred year old building that covered them in siding (protecting them from the elements.) They're in very good shape - antiquely speaking.
Can anyone point me in the direction of value or sellers? We are a non-profit community center trying to raise funds.
Answer:
Yeah, be careful not to let go of it to a scam artist or something because being an old sign painter myself, they are works of art. I would research the sign as much as possible because the more you learn about it will strengthen your position to get as much revenue from it as you can. Try to research the building they came off of. This will narrow your search and if you can contact the building's owners. Try to contact the towns historical society or historians. It will very likely be worth your time and you will learn some interesting things along the way.
