Meat Weed America
Directed by Aiden Dillard
Troma
The second film in Aiden Dillard's Meet Weed series is a hallucination like film packed with odd visuals, hilarious acting and the most nudity seen since well probably the first film in the series. This is along the lines of the first film, but is just a bit more coherent and the production values are also slightly higher as well. If you have seen Meat Weed Madness you know what to expect in style, but the film is quite different and if you can believe it even more bizarre than the first film.
Jessie Bell is still at Meatweed Manor and harassing Lord Meatweed about traveling to New York City. A small remote control airplane containing a video tape crashes into a house and when they watch the tape they learn that a terrorist named Bin Smokin is out for revenge after Lord Meatweed smoked his foreskin when he was a baby. Right after, a group of three very un-nun like nuns arrive at the manor to expand their minds. The movie throws a lot at you, but with this film more so than the first film the story is a bit more coherent and easy to follow. Sure its ridiculous, but it certainly is entertaining.
The terrorist element to the film is quite hilarious. One scene in particular is quite hilarious when a group of rednecks and hippies are debating going to war on the terrorists. Of course it ends in violence with a disgusting puking scene that is very gross but fits the feel of the film perfectly. Bin Smokin and his Jihottie death squad infiltrate Meatweed Manor and try to convert family members to their terrorist cause.
Debbie Rochan adds her talents to the film as The Hempress who Jessie Bell meets when she finally makes her way to New York. If there is one thing that can make a low budget film even better it is Debbie Rochan.
There is really far too much going on within the movie to really give more of a plot synopsis. Just like the first film this has to be seen to be believed. If you were offended by the nudity and perverse elements of the first film, this one is even worse. This is a naughty film, and if you like your low budget cinema with a flair for the perverse this is definitely a film for you.
The video quality is much improved over Meat Weed Madness. The movie is still full frame, but the image quality is much clearer and almost entirely free from grain. It still has the shot on video look, but with this film it seems to add to the haphazard feel of the film and is an asset more than a problem. The audio quality is also much more solid this time around. The sound doesnt distort during the loud sections like the last film. It's still a very low budget film, but it definitely looks and sounds much better than Meat Weed Madness.
Just like Meat Weed Madness, Meat Weed America certainly isn't a film for everyone. It's a perverse and downright odd movie that gives a middle finger to conventional film making and has an exciting out of control feel.
