Snoop Doggs Hood of Horror

Set up like Creepshow or more appropriately Tales from the Hood, Hood of Horror is a three part exercise in bucket loads of blood, hilarious comedy and a cast of some of the most recognizable faces in this genre. You have Danny Trejo, Ernie Hudson, Diamond Dallas Page, and of course Snoop Dogg rounded out with a cast of relatively unknown actors who more than hold their own amongst the more known actors. This is comedic horror done right and with a unique urban flair you dont see very often, or at least done this well.
The first short story is somewhat strange but quite interesting. A girl name Posie has a run in with a local gang and wants revenge. A mysterious man, played by Danny Trejo, essentially kidnaps Posie and gives her a tattoo that gives her powers to help get revenge. Let's just say when she spray paints over the names of local gang members that they have very graphic and painful looking accidents. I won't give away any of the specifics but these are some of the best death scenes I have seen in a while.
The second story is possibly the strongest of all three thanks to an excellent performance from Ernie Hudson. The commanding officer of a vet unit from Vietnam died and sent his son and trashy girlfriend to live with the surviving members of his unit to learn integrity. Right off the bat the son is a complete asshole to the vets and takes over weaseling away their pensions and cutting the food budget so they are almost starving. Needless to say the vets turn the tables at the end in a blood soaked final act sure to please all gorehounds. If you have ever wanted to see the untimely end of the Taco Bell dog, this segment is definitely for you.
The third segment didn't seem as fleshed out as it could have been but was an interesting tale of ego and betrayal. A duo come together to take a stab at making it big in the music industry. Quon is honest and hard working while Sod develops an ego really quick and changes completely. The two drift apart and during an apparent liquor store robbery honest one is killed. Let's just say that karma has a way of catching up with you and it comes quickly for Sod during the finale. This part isn't quite as gory, but the first two should provide an adequate amount of gore for those who love splatter.
